How I Prepare For Mid-Terms

Lo and Behold(Is that how you say it?) My Preparation for Mid-Terms.
It is that time of the semester again where you're getting all the notes you can scrounge up from the past nine weeks of 3rd quarter and trying to magically absorb them all into your brain before this week ends. Of course, there are other ways of preparing for Mid-Terms, even if you think you will inevitably fail.
Back in middle school, I didn't have to worry about mid-terms or finals and certainly not crazy words like Biocenosis or Symbiosis. I didn't have to know what y=mx+b stands for and I didn't have to try and memorize the entire alphabet by heart (feel me guys?). Middle school was just, to put it simply, easier than high school. As if we didn't already know that.
So before I ramble on about how tiresome it gets when I hear of people copying and "sharing" information *I guess that's what they call it these days*, here are my ways of preparing for mid-terms, without all of the stress.

Two Weeks Prior

Two weeks prior to mid-terms, I like to gather up all of the notes and worksheets, homework assignments, etc., and give a long hard stare at them because that's the right way to study. *Note my sarcasm. From here on out, I will tell you when I am joking.* Instead of staring at them, you should eat them because it helps process information. I'm joking. Get it? Good.

So here is what you should do, two weeks prior.
  1. Gather all of your old work and notes.
  2. Put them in order from date (oldest to newest) and in subjects (Algebra, Biology, etc., you get the point)
  3. Grab a notebook, highlighters, pretty pens, pencils, erasers, and paperclips
  4. Reread over assignments and notes, underlining, highlighting, circling important information.
  5. Rewrite your notes.
  6. Continue to reread your notes each day.

One Week Prior

One week prior to midterms, write down all of the test dates in an agenda. Never look at them again. I'm joking.

  1. Turn all of your notes into a study guide
  2. Make a practice quiz using both written and multiple choice questions.
  3. Have a study group. Studying is always more fun with friends!
  4. Make flashcards and study on the go
  5. Take study breaks and do something productive, like exercise.

Week Of Mid-Terms

So we're here! Mid-terms are this week and you should do these things to prepare.
  1. Review your study guide every day.
  2. Get at least 8 hours of sleep
  3. Eat a big breakfast each day
  4. Prepare your back pack the night before testing
  5. Exercise daily (helps oxygen flow and makes you feel great!)
  6. Don't stress
  7. And most of all, share this information. *I'm not kidding.*
